SLOC Plans to celebrate Olympic Week

The Saint Lucia Olympic Committee Incorporated will be celebrating Olympic Week 2020 from June 21 -28, without its flagship event, the Olympic day run which usually dominated the week of activities.

This shift has been occasioned by the current Covid-19 Pandemic and resulting in the theme: " The new normal. Embracing change and building resilience in Sports. "

The week will open on Sunday June, 21 with a message for the SLOC Inc President Fortuna Belrose. The message will be carried via our instagram page as well as the Saint Lucia Olympic Committee website.

From Monday June 22, to Saturday, June 27, the Committee will deliver messages of hope from four members daily. Again, these messages will be carried via social media platforms. For the entire week spanning Monday June 22, to Sunday June 28, 2020, a virtual exhibition will take place on instagram featuring exhibits from the museum located at the headquarters of the

Saint Lucia Olympic Committee Incorporated.

Wednesday June 24, will be dedicated to the Athletes’ Commission for any planned activity they wish to engage in as part of the week of celebrations. An Olympic education quiz for the week - A question a day, starting (Monday June 22, 2020 and ending Sunday June 28, 2020) will be posted on our instagram page with the first three correct respondents receiving a small token. The question will be posted at 8:00 am daily.

On Sunday June 28, the Executive Board is proposing that members engage in some form of physical activity in their own safe space and send clips of these activities via whatsapp then to

be uploaded on its instagram page.
