“Sir Mike’ Ends Successful Prostate Treatment

Businessman Sir Michael Chastanet has successfully completed prostate cancer treatment in the United States and is looking forward to returning home.
In a message to Saint Lucians posted on son Allen Chastanet’s Facebook page, Sir Michael said that Tuesday was a a significant day for him as it marked the end of his daily radiation therapy after a gruelling ten week course of treatment for prostate cancer.
He added: “I have asked my son Allen to post this message on his page as I have had so many calls and messages over the past few months that I wanted to let everyone who has been kind enough to send good wishes my way know that the treatment was successful and I am now cancer free.”
Sir Michael said it had not been an easy road with months of medical tests and procedures but he was grateful that it’s all over now.
He added: “I also feel very blessed that I have had my family by my side especially my son Allen and his family who left their home and their lives for all this time and stayed with me through it all. My doctors advise that I am 100% but that I will have to perhaps take things a bit slower and reduce the scope of my day-to-day work responsibilities”.
Sir Michael said that while he knew this will be a challenge for him, “we do what we must in life and sometimes we just have to roll with the punches”.
Sir Michael is 86 years old.
