Castries Football Council Statement on Carson Millar
30 July, 2023
The members, clubs and Executive Committee of the Castries Football Council expresses sincere gratitude for the outpouring of support and messages of condolences on the sudden passing of our Vice Chairman, Technical Director, Tournament Director, cameraman and Social Media manager Carson Millar.
To say that Carson will be missed is an understatement. Carson’s involvement in Castries Football Council was born out of deep seated passion for the league and his belief that he could not stand idly and watch Castries struggle. He was a man of frank and piercing words but he backed them up with consistency of effort and unmatched dedication to the cause. He served Castries Football Council and his club FC Pioneers in every possible capacity without fail always willing to mentor, coach or guide the next generation with the hope that one day he could just come by the field and take photos. We all knew that was a fallacy because Carson was a teacher and he took great joy in talking football, coaching and evaluating his effectiveness. Carson bled orange (when our colors were orange) and his blood turned blue when we changed our colors to white and blue!
Castries and the entire local football has lost a giant, a man who gave decades of uninterrupted service and expected nothing in return. We pray that his wife Ingrid, sons Messio and Quan and his grandson Jude are comforted in knowing that he is with his maker sleeping peacefully and no doubt thinking of the next formation he would like to try out in practice or trying to coax his garden into flourishing.
Sleep well Carson, our colleague, friend, coach and brother.
